Today is Sunday, October 16th, 2022, and this is my journal entry 001 for MMOHZ (pronounced memos – like notes), my journal of day to day life, interesting things to share, and my projects.

2:35 PM CST – Welcome to my new journal project called MMOHZ. My name is David.

I have launched this new project to give myself a place to write thoughts about mundane things in my day to day life, as well as about what projects I am working on.

Allow me to tell a few things about myself. I am an artist, blogger, content creator and curator, and photographer. When I’m not doing those things, I’m hanging out at my night job, and usually while at work, I am able to find some time to work on the aforementioned activities.

I am very fortunate to have the job I currently have. I work in security at a facilty in Salem, AL. I won’t say what facilty, or what type of facilty it is. What I will say is that I love my job, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It is a very laid-back job that I know at least a few people would love to have.

My job requires only that I keep a human presence and watchful eyes on the property throughout the night. I drive to work, clock in, walk around the property periodically throughout the night, then clock out early the next morning, and then go back home. Between my patrolling the property grounds all night, I stay busy on my phone or laptop, working on content creation, my ebooks, website projects, reading a book on my Kindle, writing something (like this journal entry – at work), or just catching up on YouTube videos.

I have been working this job since 2020, and having this job is one of the reasons that I am able to spend so much time doing things that I would struggle to do, if this job did not allow me the freedom to break out my laptop and phone to work on my own projects (both personal and business) while at work. I am basically a one man security team, although there are usually others on the property each night who have jobs not in security. So very often it feels like I have the property to myself since I generally don’t interact with the others. It helps to make my job very peaceful.

When I’m not at work, I’m usually staying at home where I enjoy working on my projects. I break out of my home occasionally to drive to the lake for my outdoor photography.

So that is just a brief although not full introduction of who I am and what this journal blog will be about. The rest will be written as I go along.

Let’s get this show on the road…

3:56 PM CST – I’m having some Campbell’s Tomato Soup (the sip cup type), and some Ritz cheese crackers. A train just passed by. The facility I work at is right by some railroad tracks, so I always see or hear at least one train every night at work. I always love it. Trains are cool.

6:07 PM CST – I’ve just finished setting up my new MMOHZ.com website with it’s new template. Now I’ve got to come up with a featured image for the home page, and then I can start publishing journal entries.

8:05 PM CST – I solved the issue of what featured image I would use on my pages and posts on the new website. I made 3 different color images with my logo, all in a different color of my logo. Yellow will be for journal entries. Red will be for lists and resources. Dark gray will be for pages. So there is a color code system coming to this new website that I didn’t intend when I started this project, but I think it will work out just fine. I will be posting my first journal entry very soon tonight.

9:26 PM CST – Feeling hungry, but not in the mood to eat a large meal (odd for me lol). So I’m eating soup. My mood for food may change later into the evening. I brought a favorite lasagna tv dinner with me to work tonight. I don’t think I’m going to be doing anything serious tonight as far as content creation goes. I’ve got a lot of Twitter scheduling coming up for YaasColor this week, so I’ve got my eyes glued to the internet tonight, but it’s mainly just for my own content consumption.
